Newsfax International, the UK's largest independent contract newspaper printer, is to occupy a new printing plant that is under construction near Dagenham, east London.

Newsfax, which prints newspapers such as The Sun, News of the World, Wall Street Journal and USA Today, has bought a 2.7 acre (1.1 ha) site at Beam Reach, one of the largest regeneration projects in the Thames Gateway being undertaken by the London Development.

The 44,063 sq ft (4,093 sq m) facility at Beam Reach 5 will become fully operational by June this year and. The land was bought from the LDA for around £2.2m, equivalent to £825,000 an acre. Newsfax will move from Bow Industrial Park, which is part of the development area for the 2012 Olympic stadium.

The arrival of Newsfax to Beam Reach 5 follows the success that Easter Developments has had at Beam Reach 8 where its 155,520 sq ft (14,500 sq m) Easter Park scheme is nearing completion and has secured two lettings totalling some 44,000 sq ft (4,090 sq m) to Ruskim Seafoods and A1 Pharmaceuticals
