The triple gold medal winner found the time to drop in on the Edinburgh headquarters of The Miller Group, following his astounding Beijing wins.

The Edinburgh-born cyclist, who has been sponsored by The Miller Group for over five years, was given a hero’s welcome by chief executive Keith Miller and staff.

They congratulated him on becoming not only Scotland’s greatest Olympian but the first British sportsman this century to win three Olympic gold medals at a single games.

Keith Miller said: ‘This is an incredible achievement and reflects the level of commitment and determination Chris has shown over many years in order to reach this world-class standard.

‘Chris’ success is well deserved and we are extremely proud and privileged to have been able to share in his journey to the top of cycling.’

Chris said he was ‘extremely grateful’ to The Miller Group for its support.

‘Simply knowing people are behind you is a huge incentive and the assistance of companies in providing sponsorship is essential in helping to develop sporting talent,’ he said.
