British Property Federation chief executive Liz Peace and Quintain chief executive Adrian Wyatt are the most prominent property names in the New Year Honours List.

Peace, who led the industry’s efforts to win Government backing for REITs, was awarded a CBE for services to the property industry.

Wyatt was awarded an OBE. He was turned Quintain into one of Britain’s foremost regeneration developers, with huge schemes at London’s Wembley and Greenwich as well as in Birmingham and on Teesside.

And latterly Wyatt has made a name for himself as an environmental campaigner, co-ordinating a major industry summit on the issue in May.

Wyatt was also the founder of the Investment Property Forum, and was also honoured for services to the property industry.

Peace and Wyatt joined Marks & Spencer chief executive Stuart Rose, who was knighted for services to the retail industry and to corporate social responsibility.

Stewart Milne, chairman and chief executive of housebuilder Stewart Milne Group, was also awarded a CBE for services to the housebuilding industry in Scotland.
