Property professionals have called on the government to back new methods of housebuilding such as modular housing if the UK is to get anywhere near building the 300,000 homes a year target.
Speaking at Property Week’s RESI Convention at Celtic Manor in Newport, Geeta Nanda, chief executive of affordable homes group Metropolitan, said the government must put its weight behind modular housing and provide the developers building them with financial support.
