Rents in Qatar have fallen by as much as 17% this year, according to the latest official figures.

The overall rate of inflation in the Gulf state is easing, but food has become slightly more expensive, the figures from the Qatar Statistics Authority revealed.

Rents, which have been the largest contributor to inflationary pressures, dropped 1.7% last month, having slid 0.8% in July with the largest decline witnessed in apartment rents, The Peninsula reported on Thursday.
