Quintain Estates & Development has received planning permission to push ahead with an office development in Birmingham’s Eastside regeneration area.

Phase One of City Park Gate will see the development of two office buildings totaling 201,388 sq ft of Grade A office space.

No. 1 City Park Gate will total 131,239 sq ft across eight levels and No 2 will total 70,149 sq ft across six.

Future phases of City Park Gate will include a 200-bed hotel, 16,000 sq ft retail space and 225,000 sq ft of new homes.

City Gate Park is part of the wider Eastside regeneration project. Quintain said it hopes to ‘transform working life in Birmingham city’ in the same way that Canary Wharf did in London.

The scheme, which is near Selfridges and the Bullring, and next to both Moor Street Station and the proposed City Park, has been designed by architects Associated Architects and Make.
