ReBlackpool has today submitted a planning application for its urban park along the seafront in the town.
The scheme, to be known as the People’s Playground is a bid to regenerate its historic coastline and seafront.
The scheme will sit along a 26 acre area of Blackpool’s promenade but is subject to BIG Lottery and North West Development Agency funding approval.
If successful the scheme, that will sit along an area between the Sandcastle and Wellington Road, will comprise a visitor education centre, performance area and a café and restaurant facilities.
The scheme is designed by LDA Design and a decision on the planning application is expected to be made in the next few months.
