Savills has appointed David Monahan, former DTZ Rockwood managing director, as senior vice president at the firm’s New York City office.

He will work within the firm’s investment sales practice.

Monahan has been at DTZ Rockwood for ten years and was involved in around $5bn of retail and office deals over that period. He has also worked at Lend Lease Real Estate Invesments, General Growth Properties and Morgan Stanley.

Gerard Mason, executive managing director of Savills, said: “The sale of retail and office assets is a critical part of our real estate investment banking platform. David Monahan brings a depth of experience in real estate capital markets that includes a wide spectrum of property types, investors and markets.”

Monahan said: “There are many opportunities to be tapped within the retail and office investment sales markets going forward.”
