Successful Scots Property Entrepreneur, Stewart Milne, has signed up as one of the judges on Property Week and the Bank of Scotland’s £30million search for property entrepreneurs.

The Stewart Milne Group is one of the UK's property success stories. It has experienced a period of successful progression since its initial origins in the north-east of Scotland in 1975; with the Group now divided into four successful arms – homes, timber systems, construction and commercial developments, which it operates throughout the UK.

Aside from his business acumen, Stewart Milne is famous for stressing the need for developments to reflect a personality which will engage homeowners.

But what kind of personality does he think a successful property entrepreneur requires?

Stewart said: 'The property market can be one of the most rewarding yet challenging sectors. I believe you need to have the courage of your convictions and most of all, be prepared to learn when things go wrong.

'As a judge in the Scottish territory, I’m hoping to see evidence of property entrepreneurs who have learnt through experience and want to use the investment on offer to turn a successful property business in to a great one.'

The Search offers property pioneers the chance to secure an interest-free funding package for three years. For each of three territories across the UK, a sum of £10 million interest- free is being provided with one successful company in each area obtaining the funding pot to realise their property dreams.

So what advice does Stewart have for applicants wishing to follow in his illustrious footsteps?

'My advice would be to use the application form as an architect’s sketch, revealing your business right down to its foundations', added Stewart.

'If I can see a clearly constructed business plan, I’m going to be a lot more impressed than a grand design that turns out to be a lot of hot air.'
