Building contractors Strategic Team Group, based in Castleford, has begun work on a £2.7m redevelopment project in Burley-in-Wharfedale, Yorkshire, on behalf of Incommunities (formerly Bradford Community Housing Trust) to provide affordable homes.
The Lawn had previously provided sheltered accommodation in Burley-in-Wharfedale, and the building is now being rebuilt and refurbished by Strategic Team Group. The development will provide 14 new apartments along with a standalone block containing a further 15 new apartments for older people.
Additionally associated services, parking and landscaped areas will also be incorporated into the development.
Ken Nicholson, director of Incommunities development and regeneration said that ‘This major development will provide much needed affordable homes for local people and also offer a choice of tenure.’
The development is due for completion in summer 2009.
