Swire Group, the Asia-focused aviation-to-beverages conglomerate, plans to assemble a European hotel empire worth hundreds of millions of pounds. Daily Telegraph


The company, which is one of Britain’s oldest trading firms in Hong Kong, is to target boutique hotels across the continent.

Its real estate arm, Swire Properties, hopes to establish a portfolio of as many as 100 hotels and the UK is expected to comprise a significant proportion of the total. Swire currently owns only three. They operate under the name Alias Hotels and are in Brighton, Cheltenham and Exeter.
