Terrace Hill has won planning for its £70m Mayflower Plaza development in Southampton.

The AIM-listed company now plans to go on site in the summer to build 116,928 sq ft of office space, a 150 bedroom hotel and 180 residential apartments in the city.

The scheme is due for completion in 2010.

Dormant site to wake up

Richard Myers, development executive at Terrace Hill, said: ‘This is one of the largest inward investments into Southampton for some time, matching the council’s aspirations for the area.

‘It will also regenerate a site that has lain dormant for a number of years and see the creation of a new public space.’

The two acre site is close to Southampton Central station and lies between the civic centre and Mayflower Theatre.

DTZ and King Sturge are agents on the scheme. Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners is the planning consultant.
