Terrace Hill, the AIM-listed developer and DevCap Partnership, have pre-let one of the two office buildings at their Quantum scheme in Maidenhead, Berkshire, to Biogen Idec.

The biological and medical research firm has taken the 53,584 sq ft Quantum 2 building on a new 15-year lease at an annual rent of £1.6m.

The first phase of the scheme, Quantum 1, is being developed speculatively, providing 70,000 sq ft of office space and is to be launched on 14 May.

Rob Lane, development director at Terrace Hill, said: ‘The area is popular with a number of biological and pharmaceutical firms – the land was purchased from Abbott Laboratories, whose headquarters borders this site – and is the obvious choice for a blue-chip firm such as Biogen Idec.’

Quantum is one of a number of office developments being undertaken by Terrace Hill.

Others include Maxis office campus in Bracknell, 129 Wilton Road in London’s Victoria, Brabazon Office Park in Filton, Bristol, and Mayflower Point in central Southampton

Terrace Hill and Devcap were represented by Parkinson Brown and Jones Lang LaSalle, while Lambert Smith Hampston advised Biogen Idec.
