The London Borough of Brent’s executive committee last night adopted the Wembley Masterplan 2009, a document that has been drawn up to ‘guide the long-term development’ of Wembley, north-west London.

Quintain is the predominant landowner of much of the site included in the masterplan, which includes a new retail high street running north and a civic centre within the Wembley City scheme as well as support for further hotels, conferencing facilities, cafes, bars and new offices on the site.

Nick Shattock, deputy chief executive of Quintain, said: ‘We all want to see a thriving, successful and balanced development in Wembley, and we welcome the council’s decision on this important document.

'The masterplan will bring the number of new homes to over 10,000, with about 10,000 new jobs. We will continue our efforts working with the council to ensure that Wembley becomes the borough’s engine of growth, and a place of which we can all be proud.’
