One of the North West’s biggest business parks is set to expand even further on reclaimed land near the River Mersey.

Wirral Council and English Partnerships are advertising for a property partner to develop a 20-acre extension at the 830-acre Wirral International Business Park, near Bromborough.

The land for the extension used to be a bulk oil storage depot for the Ministry of Defence, and has lain unused since 1970. Now it will house the extension to the Park as well as a new gateway.

Development proposalsl sought

The Council and English Partnerships are looking for property companies to submit proposals to develop the site for new commercial and industrial uses for small and medium-sized companies.

Councillor Steve Foulkes, leader of Wirral Council, said: ‘This extension to Wirral International Business Park will continue the success of recent years in attracting new businesses and jobs to our local economy.

‘We expect the successful developer to create a high quality scheme that will raise the quality of the whole business park and this key gateway into Wirral.’
