McHugh & Co’s results down year on year at May auction

McHughandCo East Finchley

McHugh & Co’s May auction failed to replicate the result of the equivalent sale last year, despite selling its largest lot prior to the sale.

The London-based auction house sold 40 lots of the 60 on offer at the 3 May sale, its second sale of 2018, raising £13m and reflecting a 67% success rate. Both the success rate and total raised were down on May 2017, when the auction house raised £20m and achieved an 85% success rate from a 59-lot catalogue.
