Footie fans gather round, for the chance of a lifetime has landed – not at The Emirates, Old Trafford or even Wembley, but in hipster Shoreditch.

David Beckham + Oli Cohen.

Last week, UK-based e-sports company Guild Esports – co-owned by former Man Utd and England legend David Beckham – opened its new HQ in Shoreditch, east London.

The firm will occupy the whole of the 11,000 sq ft self-contained building at 2 Chance Street, which will be home to its new e-sports academy. This virtual training ground will allow aspiring players of all ages to hone their keyboard skills in the hope of becoming professionals in the fast-growing field of e-sports.

The HQ will also feature a shop and a professional gaming area that will be open to the public to watch games.

Oli Cohen, partner at BELCOR and self-proclaimed Mr Shoreditch (according to his LinkedIn profile), acted for Guild Esports on the deal. Here he can be seen pitching to Mr Beckham for a place in the academy.
