Homelessness is high on the social agenda, so we are pleased to see the success industrial property giant SEGRO has had in helping people get off the streets and back into work.

Segro charity london community fund

More than 1,200 Londoners have benefited from the SEGRO London Community Fund in the past 12 months as the business backs up its investment in London boroughs with support for community projects.

The fund has also helped 120 people who, having previously been homeless and long-term unemployed in Hounslow, gained full-time employment after undertaking a course with partner Resco.

Alongside this, Vivify Hub, part of SEGRO’s East Plus scheme, trained 20 girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, more than half of whom say they will now pursue a career in technology or engineering.

Let’s hope a few of them find jobs in the property industry.
