The freehold of the City of London site was acquired from The Crown Estate in June 2010.

Plans for the 5.4-acre site were then approved to redevelop the area into a campus of up to five office buildings covering 550,000 sq ft, along with public realm and retail facilities such as retail pop-ups.

In May 2018, Royal Mint Court was sold to the People’s Republic of China for its new embassy in London.
