Architect Renzo Piano put forward his reworked plans for the Paddington Pole, a £775m redevelopment of the former Royal Mail sorting office, creating 360,000sq ft of office space and 80,000 sq ft of retail space.

The new design, dubbed the Paddington Cube, swapped a resi tower for an office building and was a fraction of the height of the original plans, which had been met with fierce opposition.

The plans were approved and, with construction due to be completed this summer, Property Week tipped in February that Capital Group had gone under offer to take 250,000 sq ft of space at the site.
