The business – known in the market as the Regent portfolio – comprised 11 buildings and 3,644 rooms across London, Edinburgh, York, Bath and Brighton.

The acquisition took iQ’s portfolio to almost 28,000 rooms in 66 locations in the UK.

Fast-forward to February this year and Olympian Homes completed a forward-funding deal with iQ for the delivery of 1,952 student beds in Leeds and Coventry.

This month, Blackstone was reported to be considering buying iQ, making an offer in the region of £4bn.
