Collaboration is a word probably more closely associated with tech start-ups than property investors. Yet with both government and industry gearing up to deliver thousands of homes in a bid to tackle the UK’s housing crisis, joint ventures and partnerships more generally are becoming more and more common as the residential sector strives to deliver much-needed additionality.

A key focus has been getting the public, private and housing association sectors to work better together, which has largely been the role of Homes England, the rebranded Homes and Communities Agency. Homes England announced in June it was negotiating a ‘framework agreement’ for a major housing association to provide equity and debt funding. This comes off the back of another JV with Kier Living and Cross Keys to deliver more than 5,000 homes, with Homes England again providing finance.

Partnerships like this will be crucial to delivering genuinely affordable homes, argues Nick Riley, board director at Whittam Cox Architects, which is co-sponsor of Property Week’s Joint Victories awards, celebrating the very best examples of collaboration in housing.

Have you been involved in a public-private, residential-led joint venture that you think is truly ground-breaking? Do you know of a scheme that fits the bill and has really raised the bar in terms of what a public-private partnership can achieve?

Then we want to hear from you - and to ensure we can, we have extended the deadline to the end of this week (6 July) to get your entries in.

The shortlisted schemes – five large (250 units or more) and five small (fewer than 250 units) – will be showcased at the all-new RESI Convention from 12-14 September.

Delegates will then be invited to vote for their favourite in each of the two categories and the two winners will be revealed at the gala dinner on Thursday 14 September.

You can also win when you nominate as those entering and being shortlisted will receive one free silver pass to RESI Convention.

All you have to do is explain in 200-750 words or fewer why the joint venture partnership you are nominating should be shortlisted. To be eligible, joint ventures cannot pre-date April 2014 and should have been at least part-delivered.

Winners of the award will also receive a profile in a future edition of Property Week.

But they have to be in it to win it, so get entering now at:
