The Property Week football cup will not go ahead following latest government guidance

Property Week Cup 2019

Last year’s Cup raised £11,425

The Property Week Cup football competition, which was due to take place at QPR’s Loftus Road stadium on Wednesday 6 May, has been cancelled in response to latest government recommendations designed to limit the spread of coronavirus.

A spokesperson for the organiser says: “Given current government guidance and that the anticipated peak for the virus is likely to be May and June, we have taken this decision after careful consideration and wanted to alert all concerned as soon as possible.

“We have contacted all our event partners and they fully support this move. The safety and wellbeing of our participants and volunteer staff will always remain paramount.”

The spokesperson adds that they look forward to “hosting this popular tournament again in May 2021” and that the organisers will continue to work closely with the event’s charity partner the Bobby Moore Fund, which supports research into bowel cancer.

Last year, the Property Week Cup raised £11,425 for the charity.
