Editor: Your recent front-page article – ‘Please mind the ethnicity pay gap’ – was excellent, but I feel it only skims over the surface of what should be an issue that firms are embarrassed about.

Until recently, certain firms used to publicise photos of all their partners/directors. There was hardly a non-Caucasian face among them.

Even now, if you asked how many non-Caucasians they employed, they would struggle to come up with more than single figures.

Their own websites are positive proof of this. I have researched this via Instagram/LinkedIn and where these firms have conferences or staff get-togethers, they are almost entirely white. The commercial world is much better than other market sectors, but not much.
